Brandon Fugal

Owner of Skinwalker Ranch

Brandon Fugal is very successful.  Mr. Fugal owns Skinwalker Ranch and is the Chairman of Colliers International in Utah; Brandon is one of the most prominent businessmen and real estate developers in the Intermountain West (James). Because he knows so much about real estate, prominent newspapers and magazines, such as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Money magazine, and Utah Business, have written about him (James).  He says he began his commercial real estate career as a teen. He even claims to have closed one of his first big deals, an office building sale, as a brand-new missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He knows it sounds unorthodox, but he insists that nothing in the missionary handbook at the time prevented him from owning and using the large brick phone he brought with him on the mission to dabble in his real estate business back home (Seitz).

Fugal has always been curious about the unknown; even as a child, he was fascinated with the mysteries of the universe and whether we were alone (James). In a recorded interview with George Knapp, Fugal states that he bought the property from a skeptic who assumed that there would be a logical explanation for 95% of the things that have been happening or have happened on the ranch but that he no longer has that privilege due to he is not only a believer but an “experiencer” and that he knows these things to be accurate because he has seen them with his own eyes (Knapp ). In season 1, episode 4 of the Skinwalker Ranch series, he shares the first time he saw a UFO in broad daylight and goes on to tell about it being a 40 to 50 feet long disk like gray and silverish, moving from one point to another in 20 seconds and then you can almost share in his total shook of what was happening ( Crocco). Fast forward to now, and the docuseries is now in its fifth season, and he has a spin-off show called “Beyond Skinwalker Ranch,” which he now helps produce. He went from wanting to be an anonymous ranch owner and stay in the background to appearing in almost every episode, sometimes more than once. If this does not scream success, what does (Y’s Guys)? Brandon has a fantastic work ethic. He continues to work in the commercial real estate business while taking on many projects and is still on top.

Fugal is a very generous person. He is no stranger to philanthropy and has been recognized in the state for his generous giving. “Supporting worthy causes, including scholarships and programs at Utah Valley University, combating abuse with Saprea, donating to homeless initiatives, and elevating women in tech with Tech-Moms, will continue to be an important part of my personal mission. I am personally thankful for the opportunities I have to give back and join with others, working together to elevate our community,” says Fugal (Walker). Brandon shared one of his favorite quotes on the social media site X. It is by Peter Bailey: “All that you can take with you is that which you’ve given away.”

Brandon Fugal is such a character that when you see him, you would think he is all business, which he does well. However, he has other sides that make him someone to admire for his incredible work ethic, starting from a young age, his kindness to others, and even his curious nature that makes him so open to the unknown and what science offers.
